Localgiving.com is a joint project between the Community Foundation Network and a major philanthropist. It is unique in the UK. Whilst it is the latest online giving web site, it is the ONLY such site that allows groups which are not registered as charities to have an online/web presence and claim gift aid from valid donations.
It does this because all the donations are channeled through the local Community Foundation, which also vets all the groups on the site, making sure each group does what it says it does.
Localgiving.com is focused on putting local donors in touch with local groups and all groups, registered charity or not, are welcome to apply
to be on the site through Hertfordshire Community Foundation. There is a small annual fee to cover the due diligence needed, and to provide each successful group with its own localgiving web site, within the overall site.
